What I Love Most About Working with Authors
I love the moment when something finally clicks for an author, when the fog lifts and their ideas suddenly feel ordered, grounded, and expressible. Many of the authors I work with are deeply thoughtful people with years of lived experience, insight, and wisdom, but their ideas are often tangled simply because they’re holding so much.
Being trusted with someone’s words is a big responsibility, and I take that seriously. I love helping authors feel seen in their writing, especially when they read a section back and say, “Yes. That’s exactly what I was trying to say.”
Where in the Process I Work with Authors
Authors typically begin working with me after Story-Mapping is complete and the direction of the book is clear. This is where the ideas, interviews, and outlines begin to turn into a manuscript.

I lead the drafting process using interview transcripts and mapped content, then guide the book through multiple rounds of editing, from early structure and flow to deeper conceptual alignment and final polish. Throughout this phase, I work closely with authors to ensure the voice remains authentic, the message stays intact, and the book grows clearer and stronger with each pass.
What Led Me to The Skinny
My background is rooted in writing, editing, and structure. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and Composition and I worked as a legal assistant before The Skinny. I have worked across creative, editorial, and operational roles, often serving as the person who translated big vision into clear execution. Working with The Skinny allows me to do deeply focused, meaningful work with authors who care about substance, integrity, and impact.
